What would it cost to repair a broken necklace?
My grandmother gave me a vintage necklace for Christmas last year, unfortunately, the ring that connected it to another more decorative ring that let it hang from a chain broke about a month ago. It’s not a precious metal and the necklace is about 20-30 years old. Can anyone tell me about the price I should expect when I go to get a repair quote?
Well, from the sounds of it it’s a jump ring that broke and it shouldn’t cost more than about 20 bucks for someone to fix it. If no one will, find your nearest Micheal’s craft store and go to the beading and jewelry section and look through the diff colors and sizes of jump rings they have there and fix it yourself. I’ve done this many many times, and no one has ever been able to tell that I did it myself.
