Well, if it has the stamp with the type then it must be real!! otherwise take it to the nearest jewelers & let him check the necklace out
Take it to a jewelry store and ask them. They would know better than any one.
If it is marked “14K” then it is as gold as you can get. But if it says 14K GF it is not as it means 14K gold filled and that is not all gold.
What is idk in your question?
If it says 14k (k or kt stands for karat. that is the term they use to weigh/measure gold. like ounce pound, gram) then ya it is real gold. 24 kt is pure gold and the smaller the number the smaller amount of gold is in it. They add a harder metal to gold because 24kt gold is so soft and bends easily. If it was plated it would say 14kt GP.
bite it like they do in movies, if it does not feel bitter then its gold
idk means i dont know.
one other way to find out if its real gold is if it starts to tarnish and turn your neck green.
this is going to make me sound like such a chemistry geek haha
the way to tell if it is real gold is to soak it in water and then take it out after a few minutes and see what happens
if its not real gold it will turn a different color, rust, deteriorate, etc.
if it IS real gold nothing will happen because gold is a noble metal, meaning that it is an element that does not react readily with many other elements or compounds (incl. water)
